The community is invited to walk and support March of Dimes efforts

CARY, N.C., April 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Chiesi is proud to be named the signature sponsor of the 2018 Triangle March for Babies Walk & 5K Run – the organization’s most recognized event in communities nationwide.

“We’re excited to sponsor because, each year, 15 million babies worldwide are born too soon,” said Jason Beyer, Sr. Director, Strategy & Corporate Development for Chiesi USA and Chairperson for the 2018 Triangle March for Babies Walk & 5K Run. “This year, we are expecting approximately 7,000 participants to join the Triangle walk, which has a goal to raise $650,000 to fight prematurity and provide support to families in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).”

The event begins at 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 28, in Perimeter Park, located at 3005 Carrington Mill Blvd., Morrisville.

Chiesi participants joining in this event for the fourth consecutive year include family and company teams, in addition to community members, who want to raise funds to help babies in the Triangle. Chiesi employees continue to find new ways to encourage participation and donations every year, from ice cream socials to raffles, contributing more than $165,000 as a corporate team since 2015.

“Offering opportunities for our employees to come together to support a cause we so firmly believe in is vital to the wellness of our organization and part of our Chiesi in the Community effort,” said Ken McBean, President of Chiesi USA. “Our commitment to neonatology, the community in which we live and the colleagues we work with go hand-in-hand with supporting the Triangle March for Babies. Our goal is to witness a continued positive impact in the health of communities we serve.”
